What does having the Moon in Scorpio mean for your behaviour, your work life and your relationships?

We are diving right in but remember accurate astrology requires a look at the whole chart. The moon is only one part of it, albeit one of the most important! The house the moon is in and its aspects will also strongly affect its expression.
Personality
Moon In Scorpio, you experience life intensely and passionately. The moon gives us our instinctual nature – Scorpio, being a fixed water sign indicates an unique emotional depth. You are capable of experiencing a wide pallet of emotions from the dark, less palatable ones to deep love and serenity.
The Moon also shows us how we deal with emotions. You prefer keeping your experiences to yourself, safeguarding them. Your emotions are so strong that others can’t understand them. And sharing them would make you feel too vulnerable.
You might struggle with deeply ingrained fears and painful memories but you tend to keep those under a lid. However for healing purposes it is necessary to bring those into the light. To look at them and work through them is only possible when you admit them to yourself and potentially even to someone who can help you deal with them.
On the upside you can be very passionate about people, things, beliefs – anything of major importance to you. And your passion has deep roots. When you feel strongly about someone or something you treat it as a treasure – preserve it, guard it, protect it.
A more difficult side of that is that you tend to become possessive of people or things and have difficulties letting go. This is most of the time triggered by the fear of loss and the negative emotions connected to it. Look to the house your moon is in to get an idea about where this can manifest.
Heightened stress can bring you to completely close off to the external world. You might become really quiet when things are wrong, when you are worried or struggling. It is advisable to learn to talk about problems and difficulties. Only then you can receive some help with overcoming them.
You tend to accumulate some anxiety and resentment. Sometimes if you can identify the person that is the cause, you could be moved to perform a counterattack – your sting is most of the time precise and very painful for the person receiving it. Just keep in mind that vengeance comes with downsides as well.
To deal more productively with negative feelings you can create rituals for releasing them. You are actually really good at that. The ritual is at best connected to something you are passionate about – taking a bath, sauna, meditation. Some might be drawn to more intense forms of releasing and processing, whether that is somatic rebirthing, depth psychology or working with plant medicines. Anything that will give you a sense of shedding the old skin and being reborn. As it is a Mars ruled sign – sports and being physically active can help with releasing difficult emotions as well.
At Work
Moon in Scorpio, you are not the biggest fan of anything superficial – so this is likely to reflect in the career you choose. Whatever you do, look for something that involves you emotionally or allows you to explore newfound depths in your field of study and expertise. Generally you can apply yourself to a task or a project with dedication and consistency.
When it comes to teamwork, be careful about your more secretive side as you might withhold certain things that are important for a team to work effectively. But there is a plus to being secretive – if your job requires you to keep secrets or be concerned with the privacy of others. Avoid holding on to unpleasant exchanges with your boss or coworkers, there might be some effort needed on your part to accept the mistakes of others and move on. Confronting issues and conflicts head on as they arise, will be very helpful to facilitate the catharsis that you need to move on.
The depth and vast experience of emotions you have means you can serve as a guide to others in their emotional processes. This can manifest itself in professions such as therapy and counselling if there are corroborating factors in your chart. There are countless therapeutic or shamanic practices that you could potentially explore but those which centre in the release of old stuck emotions will likely be the most appealing.
Your innate impulse to get to the core of things lends very well to jobs that involve research and investigation so this could be applied very well in the sciences. This could be in areas related to pathology, deep waters, chemistry or anthropology. Scorpio also has associations with death and birth, which could be manifested quite literally as funeral services or those involved in the delivery of babies.
Alternatively that tendency towards fixation, and Scorpio’s traditional association with Mars might suggest detective work and forensics. Further expressions of this could be in investigative journalism or applying this to medicine, where you investigate the source of problems and don’t stop until you find the source of the issue. As Scorpio rules the genitalia and large intestine this could indicate gynaecology, urology and colorectal surgery.
Your instinct to ‘dig deep’ can also take a more literal expression in archaeology or mining. You have many potential areas where this innate drive to the depths can serve you very well. Just be careful that you don’t get too frustrated with aspects of your chosen career that may appear to be too superficial. Remember, as superficial as the skin is on our bodies, we wouldn’t be able to manage life without it.
In Relationships
Scorpio Moon, only you know how intensely and strongly you feel for your (potential) partner. You will burn for them, adore them – the only slight problem is that they might have no idea that is the case.
As a fixed sign you prefer stable and deeply committed long term relationships. You are very passionate about your partner and will show it, but only behind closed doors. A good analogy for what you seek in relationships is ‘still waters running deep’. Just be careful to not become overly jealous or clingy. Your Partner can perceive you as quite powerful and magnetic.
You need a partner that can feel as deeply as you do, or at least be able to understand the deep emotional undercurrents. You would enjoy being with someone forever and ideally maintaining the passion you have towards each other. Long term however there needs to be a conscious effort to keep the relationship exciting, emotions can only go so far. Remember that sometimes the simple things, which might seem superficial, can go a long way in supporting a healthy relationship.
Moon in Scorpio – avoiding problems is something you are good at. Just hiding in the sand however does not resolve issues. Learning to communicate openly with your partner is an important relationship building stone. Otherwise there is a risk that the unbreakable emotional connection you have becomes uncomfortable when there is conflict or resentment builds up.
And you are very intuitive. So the more you feel that your partner is slipping away the more possessive you can become, clinging to your “treasure”, resisting change. This might lead you to persist in saving unsuitable relationships due to fear of loss. Alternatively you might persist in a relationship where no one is really happy or where one of the partners has outgrown the relationship.
It would be advisable to work on intimacy without selfishness for the benefit of both partners. Separating feeling strongly for someone from possessing them is a big step, but it will be of enormous profit to your relationship.
Stay passionate, stay profound and we’ll see you next time.
